To begin, we will hold in depth consultation conversations with you. This will ensure that we have all the information we need to help steer your vision in the right direction. We also make sure that you are setup to record a professional, clean sounding podcast. This includes advice and documents that help you select the right gear to buy, depending on your specific circumstance, vision, and budget.

Once you have selected and purchased the recording setup that fits you like a glove, we offer consultation on how to ensure that your recordings are captured correctly. This step is extremely important by the way.

A common misconception people new to podcasting have, is that they can record sub-par quality audio, and then send the audio away for mastering- and that we audio post production professionals have a magic wand that we can wave and wipe away ALL the issues with the touch of a button.  Unfortunately, that’s just not realistic.

Sure, we can strip away underlying ‘hiss’, room noise, and other artifacts, as well as edit out a slew of mistakes, mouth noise, and fidgeting. But if the audio quality is compromised past a certain threshold of ‘bad’, there’s only so much we can do.

I hate to say it, but if you record your podcast with a cell phone mic in the middle of a rainstorm next busy highway, then regardless of what we do in mastering- that podcast will always sound like it was recorded with a cell phone mic in the middle of a rainstorm next to a highway.  

That said, with a little guidance, you’ll be well on your way to pumping out tons of well recorded content that sounds great even before it is sent to us for editing and mastering.

And that’s the thing! When a podcast is recorded well, and already sounds good before the audio is mastered- we at Podcast Pro Audio can make it sound spectacular.

You record your very first podcast with your shiny new gear, send it to us- and that’s it. You can now kick your feet up and relax while our team gets to work refining your raw audio into a well-produced show that sounds awesome, crisp and professional.

We record an Intro and Outro VO segment, courtesy of one our team’s three very talented voiceover professionals.  Then mix that performance with a song we help you select- and finalize the static Intro and Outro segments that will in turn be mixed into all of your podcasts moving forward.

As for your main show content…

…that audio gets the full mastering treatment.

• We wipe away sound floor (hiss) that can detract from the quality of the show and distract the listener if left unchecked.
• We balance the EQ’s so the tone is as crisp and full bodied as possible.
• We run the audio through 4 compressors to ensure that the audio is as beefed up as it can get, and to close the gap between the loudest and softest parts of the recording.
• We use stereo imaging to widen audio’s aural spectrum, and maximize the show’s presence in the sound field, bringing the audio to the forefront of any speaker system, whether it be headphones, a car’s stereo system, or computer speakers.
• We also edit out all the mistakes and room noise. Repeated errant words like “um” and “uh” and “you know” are sought out and removed with a vengeance. Not to mention: false starts, table bumps, and fidgeting (just to name a few) are likewise removed.

In the end, what we return back to you is a show that is polished to a high shine, ID3 tagged, and ready to go ‘live’ for the world to hear.

After that, we offer optional additional services where we take it a step further– and literally launch your show for you. This means helping you setup your iTunes, Stitcher, Libsyn, and other podcast accounts and enlisting our graphic designer to create a logo for your show.  We generate written content that will accompany your podcast which includes: show summary, bullet points, hyperlinks (to websites mentioned in the podcast), a full show transcription, and even an (optional) blog post creatively crafted to maximize your page’s impact.

One thing to note- we do not create your website for you. That is a whole other process entirely. In the future that service may be added to our repertoire, but at this time it is not.

We take the burden of doing all of that off of your shoulders and place it squarely on ours.

This frees you up to focus on what’s really important- generating better content to maximize your podcast’s impact, and refining your message.
